As I take some time off to enjoy the Olympics, complimentary tickets have been delivered graciously into my post box. First up, the new cable car in London, named: Emirates Air Line. You might be asking yourself, how did I manage to gain free tickets? Courtesy of the London Mayor of course. In actual fact, I live just a ten minute walk away from the cable car. Naturally, our entire village received two complimentary return tickets each.
I was lucky enough to pick a glorious sunny evening. Previously, it had been raining for the entire month. That spot of warm evening sunshine had brought the entire city in a positive mood. After all, it was a Friday.
The Emirates Air Line was a short trip. Less than a mile long, It was too short for my liking. However, it was accompanied by breathtaking views of The O2 (North Greenwich Arena) and Canary Wharf. It was beautiful to see the sun almost setting across a London city sky. A definite tourist attraction for the city’s future.
