England would not be England without the rain. As darkness falls across the sky, the last of the summer days eventually comes to an end. How did you spend your last summer days?
That Saturday afternoon, I was lucky enough to be at the beach. These days, I am always trying to find ways of escaping London. What better way to spend your day than soaking up the last of the summer sun at the beach, whilst holding an ice cream cone. To be precise, I was situated on the south coast of England, Barton-On-Sea. In the distance, beyond the glittering sea, lies the Isle of Wight.
As I look out of my window now, rain is falling heavily across London. The blustery wind is howling once more. Farewell summer, we shall meet again next year.
Gone, till the end of the year,
Gone, and the light gone with her, and left me in shadow here!
Taken the stars from the night and the sun from the day!
Gone, and a cloud in my heart, and a storm in the air!
Flown to the east or the west, flitted I know not where!
Down in the south is a flash and a groan: she is there! she is there!
Lord Alfred Tennyson
