About Me

Welcome to La Plume Noire Photography Blog!

Kirsty Pang is my name. I am a 24-year-old female, from the lovely country of England.

My passion is Photography and Literature! I love to take photographs of nature and scenic views. However, I would love to broaden that area and try something new.  Secretly, I love black and white photography. I also travel a lot, so taking the camera with me is a must! Why? If I don’t take it, I would eventually end up regretting it. If you want to know more about my photography background, you can read it on my main site.

I also love to read! Mostly classics and fantasy novels. The human imagination is a wonderful creation. “Imagination is the work of the mind that helps create. Imagination helps provide meaning to experience and understanding to knowledge; it is a fundamental facility through which people make sense of the world.” Subsequently, every once in a while, I like to post a book review.

  1. I love your post about Egypt because I think we were there the same year as yourself, and enjoyed every second of it.Travelling up the nile is an experience itself, and I am so pleased we visited the great Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings. As you say how much longer will they be preserved. Thankyou for sharing your photo’s with us.

  2. Ahhhh. Another Jane Austen lover. I’m collecting them. I write another blog: mankuti.wordpress.com. Momfog and I have a kind of informal promise to write a Jane Austen post on our blogs – but I’m so overwhelmed, I’ve not done anything so far.

    • I’m most definitely a Jane Austen lover! Then again I fall for 18th-19th Century literature. If only writers would write like that today.

Let Jane Austen inspire you in future writings. Good Luck!

  3. I also love books from and about that period. My friends say I’m guilty of romanticising the era butI think the style of writing immerses you in that world – whereas today if writing manages to be evocative – it doesn’t manage to be elegant at the same time.

Hello, fellow reader of classics and fantasy genre. 🙂 Those are my favorites also. Your pics of Egypt look great, especialy Petra. Wow!

    • hehe…looking it this way, it seems a weird genre combination. Then again there is a book called: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! Have you read it? I am very curious indeed…

      And thank you! 🙂

      • I confess I was tempted to read it. But then I checked out various reader reviews of it. They all said it was very unimaginative. So I skipped it. But you never know…

Congrats on being Freshly Pressed! I looked through all of your photos and they’re wonderful images. I rarely do scenic photos but really enjoy yours — they really provide a sense of place. Funny, but I live in California, but have never thought about a long drive between here and Texas. Perhaps one of these days (as well as Jordan too). Best wishes, L

    • Thank you for visiting my blog! I’m glad you like my photographs! It’s was an interesting road trip from Texas to California. Very different to England! It crazy how much flat land you have. Jordan is a beautiful country! So much to see!

  10. I just joined the blogosphere, and somehow stumbled across DarkJade which led me here! You are quite talented for such a young person! I too have a deep passion for photography and writing. It started in a little red diary when I was in about 2nd grade… I think I am going to add my photography to my blog after seeing so much good stuff out there… My goal for 2012? To buy a truly remarkable camera for the next part of my journey! I enjoyed your blog, hope you will check mine out too….

    • Welcome to WordPress! I’m sure you will love it here. I would love to see your photographs. You can take many great pictures on all types of camera. It doesn’t have to be the best 😉

Thank you for your kind comments. I will go and check out your blog now.

  11. Hi there! I’m an amateur photographer and you can imagine my delight after seeing your beautiful photos! I hope I’ll have a chance to travel some time in the future, there’s so much to see and so much to capture! I found you on The Dark Globe, I’ve recently joined the crew there 🙂 Cheers!

  12. Hi Kirsty! I like the addition to your header, very British, ha-ha! Ah well, you know the Dark Globe sent me, DJ told us about the cool tech stuff you did on the blog and I must agree your work is really just amazing, and I’m not just saying that 🙂
